How it works

Live in an afternoon, not a quarter

Three steps from raw business data to instant answers. No consultants, no training programme, no six-month rollout.

1

Connect what you already use

Your database, Google Sheets, Excel online, or your documents. AskMe reads the structure itself. We do the first setup with you.

2

Ask like you'd ask a colleague

"Sales by city this month." Then "only Patna", "compare with last year", "as a chart". It remembers the conversation.

3

Get it delivered

Save any answer as a report. It refreshes itself and lands on your dashboard, in email or in Mattermost on schedule.

Under the hood: how text-to-SQL works

When you type a question, AskMe follows a precise sequence to turn your words into a verified answer:

  1. Understand the question. AskMe parses your natural language, identifies the metric you want (revenue, count, list), the time period, and any filters (city, product, salesperson).
  2. Map to your data. It looks up your database schema, table names and column meanings. If you have taught it custom terms ("active customer means ordered in the last 90 days"), those definitions apply automatically.
  3. Write the SQL. AskMe generates a read-only SQL query. It never uses INSERT, UPDATE or DELETE. If the question is ambiguous, it asks you to clarify instead of guessing.
  4. Run and verify. The query runs against your live data. AskMe checks the result for reasonableness and flags anything unexpected (e.g. "this returned zero rows — did you mean a different period?").
  5. Present the answer. You see the result as a number, table or chart, along with the data source, period, filters and any assumptions. You can switch format, download it, or save it as a recurring report.

What happens during setup

Setup is a conversation, not a project. Here is a typical timeline:

WhenWhat happens
Day 120-minute demo call. We connect a sample of your data (read-only) and answer your first real question live.
Same weekWe send a simple quote based on your number of users and data sources.
After you say yesWe connect your full database or spreadsheets. You start asking questions the same afternoon.
First weekYour team finds its rhythm. We add custom definitions ("our fiscal year starts in April") and set up the first scheduled reports.

Follow-up questions

AskMe remembers the conversation. After "top 10 products by revenue this month", you can say:

"Only Patna" "Compare with last year" "As a chart" "Send this to me every Monday"

Each follow-up builds on the previous answer. No need to repeat the full question.

Security at every step

AskMe is read-only by design. It can never modify your data. For the full security breakdown, see our security page.

See it work on your own data

The best way to understand AskMe is to watch it answer your question. Book a free 20-minute demo.
